These quick and easy, not-too sweet toasty bars are family and kid-friendly. Easy to make, with just a few ingredients, these granola bars can be made ahead to enjoy for breakfast, in lunches or as an easy delicious snack.
4 cups quick cooking oats
1/3 cup canola oil
2/3 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped organic nuts (optional)
Preheat over to 350⁰.
Spread oats on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake for 15 minutes, stirring a couple of times.
Allow oats to cool to room temperature.
Combine remaining ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
Add cooled oats and stir until mixed completely.
Spread mixture into a 9 x 13 baking dish that has been sprayed or oiled.
Press down hard to compact it.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool completely and cut into bars.
Makes 16 bars.
